Welcome to The 74 Shop!

This is an original paint, un-restored 1948 FL Panhead. This bike just recieved a 250 hour complete mechanical restoration and detail. The entire bike has been rebuilt, cleaned, and upgraded with NOS parts. There are no aftermarket or reproduction parts on this machine! This is one of the nicest bikes I've ever worked on. The bike now runs & rides better than new. If you've got an all original HD that needs some work, The 74 Shop is the place to have your work done. We know original HD's and how to properly work on them.
Below is an original paint 1949 FL Panhead with only 13,000 miles.
Here's another original paint 1949 FL with just 8100 miles. This is a restoration manual on 2 wheels.
Fresh Panheads ready for action!

We build antique HD's to ride! This is not a trailer queen shop. I prefer to work with customers who ride and enjoy their bikes.
Happy Motoring!

I am looking to build up to 3 HD 61" J or 74" JD Model motors for others looking to compete in the 2012 Motorcycle Cannonball. I built my engine and finished with a perfect score. No rebuilds, just riding. I now have over 3500 miles on the motor and it is running perfectly. You too can have a Cannonball ready motor from The 74 Shop.
This is an original paint, un-restored 1961 FL Panhead with 14,000 miles. Certainly the nicest, most original 1961 Panhead I've ever seen.
My 39EL out for a spin. The bike hit 77,777 miles that day. Lucky 7's.
Check out this old rider. This is a 1941 FL Knucklehead with a factory sidecar and 3 speed with reverse tranny. Over 70,000 miles on this rig.
Here's an original paint unrestored 1957 period modified panhead with all the trimmings possible. It has only 248 original miles. This is the real deal!
Pictured below is myself along with my wife Stacey and mother Peg Barber taking a break during the first annual Joe Barber Memorial Road Run in May of 2005.

Here's an original paint Hi-Fi Turquoise 1959 FLH that was completely rebuilt in 2006 and has several thousand miles on it since completion. The bike has now earned AMCA Winner's Circle Status and runs great.
